Job description
The Professional Development Specialist will be responsible for Onsite PD Delivery and Coaching, the delivery of K-12 programs implementation and advanced professional development services, as well as delivering exemplary, engaging, interactive product demonstrations for Teq’s K-12 customers.
The Professional Development Specialist will have a broad understanding of content and K-12 programs. The delivery of engaging, customer-focused professional development implementations is crucial. This position is accountable for effective presales support, professional development workshops, implementation trainings, and on-site coaching/mentoring/demonstration lessons to customers. The Professional Development & Product Field Specialist will also be responsible for delivering in-depth product training to the sales, professional development, and technical support teams, including equipment set up, demonstration, and basic troubleshooting skills.
Responsibilities: - Demonstrates understanding of all Professional Development courses as well as the technology associated with such programs, to be expert on the products and services for Teq sales
- Travel Required - This position requires travel to schools and districts throughout New Jersey , New York City and beyond. However, a concerted effort will be made to keep professional trainings within proximity to the home location
- Provides Onsite PD presales support for all products and services (PD) to assist with sales calls or online presentations
- Delivers effective implementation workshops and advanced professional development tailored to the client's needs
- Drives utilization of customized PD plan and evaluation; utilizes this information to build effective measures of staff and customer satisfaction for administrator and the teacher
- Demonstrates extensive knowledge about curriculum issues and utilizes that information to build a foundation for effective communication with customers
- Demonstrates a depth of product knowledge and can communicate content knowledge, product knowledge, and implementation experience to build trust with clients and help drive student achievement and teacher effectiveness
- Supports the development of initial and advanced professional development workshops and services while supporting per diems in their ability to deliver these effectively
- Customizes training based on customer needs and prepares and delivers effective interactive workshops that reflect new and creative ideas relating to current issues and trends and provides stimulating ideas for teachers to take back to their classrooms
- Communicates with clients before each scheduled service to determine needs to customize for the district
- Set-up and demonstrate equipment to School Boards, School Administrators, Building Principals, Chair-people, Teachers, and Students.
- Responsible for helping prospects and customers understand the capabilities of our suite of offerings
- Communication with Sales and Sales Operations to coordinate related follow-up activities
- Periodically, train remote employees on new and existing products and product updates
Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree in Education, Education Technology, or related field preferred
- Minimum of 2 years teaching experience
- 2 years providing professional development designed to effectively integrate technology into curriculum and instruction preferred
- An inspiring desire to develop effective instructional technology
- Demonstrated ability to use data to inform instruction
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organization, time and project management and presentation skills
- Highly proficient computer skills (Coding a real plus)
- Working knowledge of Next Generation Learning Standards and Common Core State Standards a plus
- Understanding of academic market dynamics
- Experience with instructional design, learning design, or curriculum design
Compensation and Benefits: - Salary range $60,000-$70,000
