(Only QUALIFIED Healthcare Professionals accepted) Gastroenterology-NP - Busy, hospital owned Gastroenterology practice seeks to employ an additional advanced practice provider. Rewarding schedule of mostly outpatient but inpatient responsibilities as well. Supportive, team environment.
The nurse practitioner performs outpatient office visits to include new patients, routine follow up and acute care. Orders and interprets lab and radiology results and formulate a medical plan of care according to protocols. Performs admission history and physicals. Performs discharge planning functions, family case conferences and dictates discharge summaries. Perform pre-procedural evaluation, and answer questions pertaining to GI procedures such as bowel preparation, anti- coagulation therapy and dietary recommendations. See and evaluate new patients and completes history and physical exams and consultations in collaboration with physician. Presents patient to physician and assists in formulating a treatment plan, ordering appropriate lab and radiographic studies. Evaluate post-procedural patients and routine follow up visits. See same day patients when required. Triage new and existing patients over the phone.
