The EHS Specialist will play an integral role in the HSE Function. This person will ensure the environmental safety and industrial health programs at assigned site are implemented and practiced consistently to promote compliance and a work environment adhering to regulations and Company's environmental, safety and health policies and procedures. - Assist EHS Manager with regulatory compliance including conducting periodic audits and inspections and timely submission of reports.
- Respond to and assist in site emergencies.
- Assists with of EHS incidents, inspections and audits including root cause analysis; corrective action determination; and completion of investigation corrective actions on time.
- Provide necessary training, either classroom or web based, for successful environment and health/safety performance.
- Enforce all regulations, policies, work procedures, safety rules and instructions.
- Report EHS deficiencies and opportunities for improvement to EHS Manager.
- Support in communicating with EHS regulatory agencies.
Management Systems - Assist as necessary with EMS and HSMS management system implementation, maintenance,
- internal audits and certification process.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and use Plan-Do-Check-Act process in all job functions.
Environment - Complete tasks to meet the requirements/conditions of environmental permits and programs.
- Supports waste management including packaging, accumulation and shipment. Contribute to pollution reduction efforts.
Safety and Health - Systematically tour work areas to detect and correct unsafe conditions and unsafe behaviors with the
- support of responsible functions.
- Support with site emergency response by conducting exercises/drills.
- Direct process and material risk assessment analysis and coordinate subsequent management of change impacts.
- Organize/conduct EHS training not offered using on line training software. Participate in industrial trial EHS assessment and pre-start up safety reviews.
- Assist with industrial hygiene monitoring and makes changes to hearing and respiratory protection as required.
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications Bachelor degree in science field or equivalent plus 3 - 5 years' experience and knowledge
in regulatory compliance in a chemical manufacturing plant.
Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Knowledge/experience with OSHA programs including fall protection, machine guarding, hazardous materials, personnel protective equipment, electrical safety, fire protection, hearing conservation program, respiratory protection program and toxic and hazardous substances and with EPA's SPCC, SWPPP and RCRA programs.

Salary pay range staring at 100K.
