As a Hardware Procurement Lead, you will play a pivotal role in developing and executing holistic IT category strategies, focusing on software and hardware procurement. Your expertise will be critical in driving supplier negotiations, managing contracts, and ensuring the organization's technology needs are met efficiently.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement proactive sourcing strategies for software and hardware categories, aligning with the business unit's objectives.
- Execute strategic sourcing events, engaging with stakeholders, business units, and impacted individuals to achieve technology subcategory goals.
- Provide spend analytics, market research, and cost modeling for internal purposes and business unit clients, supporting category strategies.
- Utilize industry knowledge and technology to establish should cost models, identify spend leverage opportunities, and drive supplier negotiations.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices related to software and hardware procurement, incorporating them into category and execution plans.
- Build a deep knowledge base of assigned commodities and their specifications, ensuring end-user requirements are met.
- Monitor the quality and timeliness of deliveries and identify mitigation measures when needed.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define the scope and objectives of purchases, ensuring supply chain requirements are met.
- Ensure Service Level Agreements meet end-user client area needs.
- Identify opportunities to lower the total cost of goods and services and enhance cost of ownership.
- Manage procurements for day-to-day requirements, projects, and strategic procurement, including complex negotiations.
- Execute contracts in accordance with company policies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline (relevant job-related CenterPoint Energy experience considered for non-degree candidates).
- 7+ years of IT strategic sourcing experience, including large, complex vendor negotiations and cost reduction achievements.
- Strong understanding of market dynamics and category management principles.
- Experience mentoring junior sourcing specialists.
