Position description


The UC San Diego Department of Education Studies () invites applications for the position of Director, Teacher Education. This is a full-time, non-tenure track appointment (payroll title: Academic Administrator).

The Teacher Education Program (TEP) in the Department of Education Studies is committed to preparing aspiring teachers to create and promote justice-oriented learning environments through participation in and collaboration with diverse school communities. TEP offers several undergraduate and graduate pathways that culminate in preliminary teaching credentials and Master of Education (M.Ed.) degrees, including Multiple Subject Education, Single Subject Education (Science, Mathematics, English Language Arts, and World Languages), Bilingual Authorization, and Education Specialist Credential in American Sign Language - English Bilingual Education.

We seek a dynamic and forward-looking Director of Teacher Education to sustain and build upon our regional and national reputation. The Director will provide leadership and administrative oversight for curriculum and instruction across all the Departments' teacher education programs, foster excellence in teaching, and effectively represent program constituents at local, regional, state, and national meetings.
