Job Summary
Strawser Construction Inc., a subsidiary of Barrett Industries Corporation, provides pavement preservation solutions for public infrastructure and private clients. We are currently looking for a Sales Representative who will be responsible for developing and managing customer relationships in the West Virginia & Kentucky area. This role will require periodic visits to the company offices but can generally be performed remotely.
Main Responsibilities
- Educate customers on proven road maintenance strategies, technologies and emerging trends.
- Help customers optimize their roadway infrastructure investments to create a higher ROI on taxpayer dollars.
- Recommend product solutions to customers.
- Analyze and review roadways with or for customers.
- Conduct site visits of active jobs with customers and coordinate product demonstrations.
- Interview customers to better understand customer value and gain insights.
- Bring internal subject matter experts to help solve customers’ problems.
- Create plans to develop your territory and increase customer loyalty.
- Suggest ideas to continuously improve our sales processes and tools.
- Maintain sales data for your territory in our sales enablement system (HubSpot)
- Analyze your territory results and make recommendations to improve the business.
- Communicate customer expectations to internal Estimators and Operations teams.
- Collaborate with the Marketing team to improve our go-to-market strategies and tactics.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience
- Minimum of 5 years of field sales or account management experience
- General construction knowledge
- Current driver’s license and ability to drive on a regular basis.
- Ability to travel 35% to 40% of the time (overnight stay may be required)
- Ability to build high trust relationships with government officials.
- Ability to conduct work safely around job sites with heavy equipment.
- Ability to develop a deep understanding about the technical aspects of products in the road construction and maintenance industry.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate well and use a consultative approach.
- Strong technology skills using office productivity software and sales enablement systems.
- Ability to recommend improvements to standardize our sales processes.
- Ability to manage competing priorities.
- Ability to work independently and ask for guidance appropriately.
- Ability to read, write and speak English.
