SAIC is seeking multiple level Network Engineers to support the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Revolutionary IT Services (RITS) program to monitor USACE infrastructure, including network services and devices, physical and virtual servers, storage systems, databases, and websites, acting on alarms per standard operating procedures.
NOTE: This position is a fully Remote / Work from Home position. Need to be open to various shifts.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Monitoring the US Army Corps of Engineers’ network infrastructure, servers, databases, applications, and websites, opening trouble tickets for alarms from these systems and assigning them to the appropriate Data Center team for investigation and resolution.
- Monitoring for outages on the data circuits used by the Corps and working with the data circuit providers to ensure timely resolution.
- Performing basic remote troubleshooting and interacting with customers to investigate issues affecting network routers, switches, gateways, firewalls, cabling, and telco CSU/DSUs.
- Providing Tier 2 support to customers by processing incoming trouble tickets from the Enterprise Service Desk, and by processing emails from customers delivered to a shared team email inbox
- Fully documenting reported issues in the ServiceNow trouble ticket system, including customer contact information, symptom descriptions, troubleshooting steps taken, dates and times of each development in the case, plans for additional steps to be taken, and issue resolution
- Creating and posting online daily SITREP reports for management showing all on-going unplanned outages and upcoming scheduled maintenance
Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Level I: Bachelors and zero (0)+ years of experience; additional four (4) years experience accepted in lieu of degree
- Level II: Bachelors and two (2)+ years of experience; additional four (4) years experience accepted in lieu of degree
- Must be able to work shift work, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Experience providing professional-level customer service, or professional experience supporting personal computers and/or PC hardware or software
- Understanding of LAN/WAN networking concepts and hardware
- Experience working with server operating systems (Microsoft, UNIX/Linux, and/or Cisco network devices
- Experience with Microsoft Office products or comparable applications required
REQUIRED CERTIFICATION:
Current DoD 8570 IA Baseline Certification, IAT Level II (examples include: Security+, CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, CND, SSCP) is required to be considered.
REQUIRED CLEARANCES:
- Must be able to obtain a full Secret Clearance; Interim Secret required prior to start, SAIC will help to obtain
- Must be a current US Citizen.
Target salary range: $55,001 - $65,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
