Before Oakville became an appellation, before Groth made the first 100-point wine in Napa, the vineyard was born from a family dream, the friendship of neighbors and a huge leap of faith. Today, Groth sustainably farms two estates totaling 165 acres with the dual goals of production the highest-quality, most elegant wines possible, while caring for our estate for future generations.

POSITION SUMMARY

Often the first and last impression left with guests, customers, and members, the Estate Concierge and Hospitality Assistant at Groth plays a vital role. The person in this role must have exceptional communications skills, value attention to details, be able to shift course quickly, and appreciate working in a dynamic environment where a sense of humor and one-team mentality are a must.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Guest Reservations
•  Respond to all reservation (phone, email, chat) inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
•  Welcomes all guests in a warm and gracious manner.
•  Assist with the daily organization and management of the reservation platform.
•  Create a daily reservation schedule for the team.
•  Notes important guest information and ensures those details are shared with the greater team. Keeps updated and detailed notes with CRM system.
•  Engage with guests and provide concierge level recommendations as to where to stay, dine, taste, etc.
•  Assist with the booking of trade visits as required.

Hospitality Support
•  Lead the set up and breakdown of guest tastings, inclusive of glassware, menus, collateral, etc.
•  Efficiently and accurately complete guest purchase transactions, returns/refunds, accounting of daily sales, addressing guest concerns, etc.
•  Assist in the completion of all daily tasting room activities, ensuring our hospitality spaces are always tidy and inviting.
•  Able to accurately complete opening and closing procedures and daily inventory counts.
•  Ensure wines and collateral pieces are appropriately stocked.
•  Wash and polish glassware as needed.
•  Able to personally host guests on occasion – guiding them through our story and our wines.
•  Be present at all hospitality special events, as required. This may include modified hours.
•  Provide occasional support to the wine club and other DTC campaign support (i.e. text, telesales, etc.)
•  Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities)

•  Knowledge and ability to work with Tock and Wine Direct is a plus.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
•  1-2 years of experience in a customer service setting.
•  Flexibility and willingness to occasionally work beyond scheduled hours.
•  Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
•  Acts to the Groth values.
•  Strong code of ethics and high level of integrity.
•  Must be able to lift 40 pounds repeatedly.
•  Must have a valid CA driver’s license.
•  Must be at least 21 years old.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The physical requirements listed are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions and key responsibilities of this position.
The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner at all times. Frequent operation of computer and other office equipment, the ability to sit at a workstation for long periods of time, stand, walk, climb stairs, bend, lift, twist, pull, push, carry, grasp, reach and stoop as need, and to occasionally lift and carry items up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. The employee works in an office environment. Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work. Occasional travel may be required.
