We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Rare Earth Separation Engineer to spearhead the development and optimization of our solvent extraction processes for rare earth element recovery. You will play a pivotal role in driving innovation and efficiency, ensuring we responsibly and sustainably extract these critical resources for the future of clean energy, electric vehicles, and advanced electronics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Guide the design, development, and optimization of advanced solvent extraction processes for efficient and selective separation of rare earth elements from various feed sources.
- Conduct pilot-scale testing, analyze data, and implement advanced strategies to optimize process performance, solvent selection, extractant design, and flowsheet optimization.
- Lead the detailed engineering of the solvent extraction system, including equipment selection, sizing, and integration with upstream and downstream processes.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and technicians, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment within the team.
- Continuously research and stay updated on the latest advancements in solvent extraction technology and rare earth element processing, identifying and implementing opportunities for technological improvement.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to required specifications while effectively managing resources and budgets.
- Prepare clear and concise technical reports, presentations, and proposals for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Provide strategic insights and recommendations on technology roadmap, resource allocation, and market trends related to rare earth element separation.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in chemical engineering, Extractive Metallurgy, or a related field.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in solvent extraction process design and development, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven track record of success in optimizing and leading the development of complex chemical processing systems.
- In-depth understanding of chemical equilibrium, mass transfer, and separation science principles.
- Demonstrated expertise in process simulation software like ASPEN Plus and CHEMCAD.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a talent for identifying and implementing innovative solutions.
- Strong leadership qualities, effective communication skills, and the ability to motivate and mentor a team.
- Collaborative and results-oriented, with a strong work ethic and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
