Job description
Role : VoIP Network Engineer
Location : Onsite in Davenport Iowa
Duration : 4 months with possibility of an extension
Start date : 2-19-24
Interview process : For the interview, a technical phone interview will be first, then an on-site interview.
This location is upgrading their phone from PBX to VoIP. This person will assist the other 2 network engineers with this project.
Client has an immediate opening for a Network Engineer. Ideal candidates must have 4+ years of Cisco networking and telephony experience. A Network+ certification would be preferred.
- Assist client with migrating their site from a PBX environment to a VoIP environment
- Monitor/Manage/Break-fix/Refresh/ Design/Specify/Order/configure Cisco devices, including switches and VoIP gateways and routers
- Be able to walk through the plant and identify where a VoIP phone should be located and what network cabinet to connect to
- Be comfortable with Telephony acronyms as well as general networking terms
- Have the ability to physically walk a large facility, rack mount network devices, and have a high safety awareness of surroundings
- Support a senior network engineer and assist as necessary
- Occasional overtime will be needed, and some weekend work
Education:
- Bachelor's degree - Required
Experience Required:
- Network+ certification - Preferred
- Previous telephony experience - Required
- Network Engineer experience- 3+ years required
- Excellent communication skills
- Attention to detail and ability to be self-motivated
