SUMMARY

Operate a variety of manual and CNC machinery and equipment to process work pieces to print or job order specifications.

HOURS

6:00 am - 4:30 pm Tuesday - Friday

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Studies prints and job orders for product specifications such as dimensions and tolerances, and tooling instructions such as fixtures, feed rates, cutting speeds, depth of cut and determines sequence of operations.
• Layout dimensions on parts per prints.
• Setup and operate machinery to cut shape or form metal to specifications and ensure conformity of finished work.
• Operate drills, grinders, mills, lathes, forklifts, overhead hoists, and other equipment as needed.
• Inspect work pieces to ensure they are within tolerance and meet print specifications.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED/PREFERRED

• Able to use and understand all precision measuring instruments.
• Knowledge of CNC programming.
• Understands basic math concepts.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints, bills of material, setup sheets, etc.
• Able to use a wide variety of tools.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Requires standing, bending, twisting, lifting, walking

EDUCATION/TRAINING REQUIRED/PREFERRED

• Prefer successful completion of related coursework at a trade or technical school
• High school degree or equivalent
