Retail Operations Manager

The Key Account Operations manager is responsible for the day-to-day operating success of Benchmade’s largest customers by maintaining the highest level of customer satisfaction. The KAOM will ensure processes and systems are efficient and effective between Benchmade and our customers. They will improve our on-time and in-full order processing and mitigate potential disruptions in service. This person will develop a trusting relationship with the retailer’s demand planning team to understand and exceed their operational needs for the entire lifecycle from forecast to shipping complete.

The Key Account Operations Manager reports directly to Director of Sales Operations with a dotted line to Sales Manager and Demand Planning team for retailer.

This person wins by providing the best customer service through prompt and complete actions to “win the customer” and “make better, better”.

Responsibilities

• Support Key/National Retailers and Benchmade Sales Managers by fostering and maintaining communication with principal employees of retailer’s demand planning team.
  
• The Account Operations Manager will collect, audit, input, allocate, release and report status of orders to retail and Benchmade.
  
• Collaborate with Benchmade operations and supply chain team to ensure we are exceeding OTIF expectations.
  
• Collaborate with sales manager to build a forecast that encompasses, new store, NPI, Inline and promotional opportunities throughout the year with a goal of 95% accurate within Leadtime to ship date.
  
• Audit and measure performance of forecast to orders within lead time.
  
• Update SKU Catalog for NPI and Obsolete SKU’s in retailers’ system.
  
• Process credits, debits, warranty, promo, and other account related ERP processes.
  
• Create reporting schedule for customer report cards and provide feedback at Monthly SIOP meetings.
  
• Ad hoc reporting and tasks as they relate to best-in-class customer service for retailers.
  
• Review and adjust forecasts based on Sell through and current inventory.
  
• Subject matter expert for Key Account sell through data and reporting, utilizing 3rd party system dashboards to provide regular updates to sales management.
  

Qualifications

• Understanding of retail sales, including Open to Buy, demand planning and order writing cadence, and sell thru metrics (inventory, variance, sell thru rates).
  
• Adept at working with large amounts of data, including high proficiency in Excel.
  
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with a wide variety of roles, including external retail partners as well as internal sales and company leaders.
  
• Experience with ERP system and order management (Syspro experience a plus).
  
• Experience with EDI order method (general understanding of this technical process).
  
• Able to work independently and re-prioritize projects and tasks as necessary.
