Job description

Title:   Facilities Maintenance Worker I
Reports to:   Facilities Maintenance Manager
Department: Facility Maintenance
Location:  5350 Machado Road and in the field
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Compensation: $21 - $23 /hr. DOE
Program Hours:   Monday Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm or 7:30 am to 4:00 pm
Supervisory Responsibility:  NONE

Position Summary

Provide maintenance and upkeep of the organization's facilities as assigned.  Duties include but are not limited to painting, janitorial work, plumbing, and electrical repairs, as well as other general maintenance tasks.

Qualifications

Education/Licenses/Certifications:  High School degree or equivalent

Experience:
Seven years in facility maintenance, including the use of hand tools with basic understanding of building materials, painting, mechanical and electrical systems (lock-out/tag-out procedures), basic plumbing and general janitorial work (cleaning products, SDS), and grounds maintenance (playgrounds, gates, etc.). Handyman or Construction work experience preferred.

Work Environment

The general work environment varies and is not confined to a specific setting.  Work will be performed indoors and out, temperature will vary depending on specific job assignment.  Will spend 20% of time traveling to other facilities in own vehicle or ECF van.  Office work will consist of using computer to place supply orders, documenting records of repairs and orders performed/completed.  May be exposed to chemicals such as paint, paint solvents, cleaning solvents, etc.  Appropriate safety gear, such as safety goggles, gloves, etc., is provided and must be worn at all times when dealing with all chemicals.
