Position's Purpose and Essential Functions:
Patient Profile review for clinical and fiscal control of medication dispensing. Compounds and dispenses prescribed drugs in a healthcare facility environment. Responsible for transferring prescriptions, handling incoming physician calls, logging data into the computer, and Drug Utilization Review. Provides order screening, order entry, supervision of Pharmacy Technicians and performs other related duties as assigned for the operation of the Pharmacy. Communicates with nursing and physician care givers on a daily basis. Ensures the service values are reflected in all aspects of the department operation. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Typically reports to a manager.
Applicant's Job Requirements Include: - Required: Bachelor's or Doctorate's degree in Pharmacy from an accredited institution and is licensed to practice.
- Required: Knowledgeable in pharmacology and the pharmacodynamics of medication therapy. Specializing in hospital pharmacy application of professional practice.
- Required: Currently licensed by and in good standing with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
- Required: ACPE I.V. Certified.
- Preferred: BLS.
- Knowledgeable in pharmacology and the pharmacodynamics of medication therapy. Specializing in hospital pharmacy application of professional practice.
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
