Job Summary
Within the Quality Assurance Lab, performs chemical laboratory analyses/reviews to ensure product compliance to quality standards.
This is a night shift position working 4, 10 hour days, Monday-Thursday 7pm-5:30am.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform routine chemical analysis of raw material, in-process, and finished products in accordance with testing methodology/COA documents and cGMP guidelines with highest regard to safety, quality, cost, and timing.
- Perform COA reviews of raw material and finished to ensure microbial results fall within acceptable Food Safety guidelines
- Collect, prepare, ship and document product samples in accordance with quality assurance testing program and testing agency request documents.
- Perform daily calibration, maintain documentation and routine maintenance on laboratory instrumentation as applicable.
- Assist with laboratory investigations, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective and preventative actions.
- Maintain raw material and finished product retention samples.
- Maintain good laboratory practices (GLPs) ensuring safety and sanitation are key components of everyday tasks.
- Provide support to internal and external customers as needed.
- Report all OOS (out of spec) in a timely manner and aid in investigation and corrective actions.
- Preparation of standards, solutions, and media required for testing.
- Dispositions (release/hold) raw materials, in-process batches and finished goods for furthering manufacturing or final usage.
- Assist in preparation for compliance audits
- Work as a team with other lab associates to achieve shift, department, and plant objectives
- Work under limited supervision with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Must have the ability to work collaboratively, multitask, and adapt to changing priorities and schedules.
- Provide support to manufacturing facilities as needed
Education and Experience Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in the field of science (Biology, Food Science, Chemistry, or Microbiology)
- Experience preferred but not required
Required Skills

- Knowledge of laboratory operations, equipment, and safety requirements
- Strong understanding of Good Laboratory Practices requirements
- Analytical skills
- Ability to work independently with little supervision

- Demonstrate strong multi-tasking skills
- Proficient skill level in MS Office Applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel.
- Good communication skills, both written and oral
