Principal Rotating Equipment Mechanical Engineer in the Clearlake Plant Central Reliability Group: The department's primary responsibility is Managing Reliability Programs for the site, such as RCA(Root Cause Analysis), PdM (Predictive Maintenance), RCM(Reliability Centered Maintenance), as well as technical development for the site discipline engineers and providing technical assurance as needed
Stewardship – Engages team on the right way
- The Reliability Engineer is responsible for establishing and supporting activities/programs aimed at ensuring the units at our CLK Facility achieve Availability & Reliability targets
- Expectation within this role includes providing support for Operations, Maintenance, large and small Cap Projects, Turn Arounds and Construction activities
- You will assure proper design, installation, and repairs according to Celanese Standard Engineering Practices.
Quality – Ensures work quality (right the first time)
- You will be expected to provide support on complex troubleshooting efforts as they arise and provide off-hours support as required to front line unit engineers.
- You will be expected to provide technical oversight and recommendations for rotating equipment. The expectation will be to develop equipment care strategies for key Rotating Equipment classes including, but not limited to pumps, compressors, and turbines.
- You will also participate in incident investigations involving rotating equipment failures and to leverage your depth of technical and analytical skills in leading Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFAs) and corrective actions for complex and/or repetitive problems. Also as a Reliability Program owner, the candidate will be accountable for management of the site Reliability RCA program, ensure RCAs meeting the right threshold of cost impact are investigated and corrective actions captured.
- You will be responsible for understanding and ensuring compliance with applicable codes, and for update of the site Rotating Standard Work Practices.
Engagement – Creates an environment for teaching, coaching and learning
- You will also provide technical input and support for Process Safety Management as well as supporting site Process Safety Audits, ISO Audits, PHA assessments, RCM studies and much more.
Production/Reliability – Work Execution
- You will be responsible for the health of the Rotating Network, which include tracking the technical development of engineers in the discipline, development of training material to close discipline gaps, and carrying out competence assessment of engineers to identify strength and opportunities for development within the discipline.
Strategy – Implements maintenance plans
- You will be accountable for tracking key KPIs for the Rotating Discipline, such as Pump MTBF for the site, Site Rotating Bad Actor list etc and own the site PdM program for the rotating discipline.
Communication – Effective communication to key stakeholders
- You will be expected to drive a continuous improvement mindset within the Rotating discipline and the site, you will actively identify opportunities for improvement and support implementation where possible.
Qualifications:
- BS Mechanical Engineering
- 15 years experience in a manufacturing facility, preferably chemicals, polymer, or petrochemical manufacturing
- Knowledge of Reliability analysis techniques preferred
- Experience carrying out RCAs & RCM studies
- Experience developing long term reliability strategies
