Job description

St. Luke's Health System is seeking an Associate Coder to join our team.

Under close supervision, the Associate Coder is responsible for reviewing applicable documentation and assigning appropriate procedure and diagnosis codes.

Must be located in Idaho or Oregon!

Responsibilities

• Reviews notations, diagnosis, or procedure information in medical record to assign or validated appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes, ensuring accuracy and appropriateness of codes related to basic outpatient coding and physician coding.
• Ensures documentation supports the level and type of service billed, is in compliance with billing regulations, provider documentation procedures and coding guidelines.
• Follows well-defined policies and procedures to perform routine assignments requiring a limited knowledge of medical coding theory and principles.
• Follows company policies, procedures and state and federal regulations related to medical coding.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

• Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Experience: 0 year's experience.
• Licenses/Certifications: None
