Job description

The Design Checker providing engineering support with the purpose of assisting engineers in their design work as well as technical documentation and release of designs. Primarily responsibilities includes supporting vehicle engineering activities, including CVDE, CAB, and EE.

Requirements

Required Competencies:

• Drawing Checking experience, minimum 5 years

• Highly experienced working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) principles (ASME Y14.5 and/or ISO related standards)

• Good and clear communication skills to discuss and present drawing and part correspondence

• Willing to work extra hours when requested to support project demands

• Display experience with review and markup of engineering product drawing/documentation

• Experience with MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint tools

• Knowledge of machine and tooling best practices for plastics, sheet metal forming, castings

Experience, Skills and Training Detail:

• 5 years minimum working with GD&T principles (stated above)
• Familiar with product engineering drawing detail and release processes
• CAD experience of CATIA V5 and/or Pro-E/CREO a plus
• Good communication skills a must and working knowledge of reporting tools using MS Outlook/PPT/Word/Excel/Publisher

Education:

Must have completed a minimum BS of Mechanical Engineering; MS preferred
