Job Summary
The Sr. Project Manager (Product Development Process Design) position is global role that owns the Offering Lifecycle NPDI, Sustaining, and End of Life processes for Vertiv Products and Services. This is a highly visible role that works closely with PM Organizations in our Product and Services teams and Line of Business (LOB) leadership, to meet the process and tool needs of our NPDI teams. The Sr. Project Manager is responsible for continuing to mature and improve our PMO and NPDI processes through standardizing our workflows, increasing use of automation, and managing new requirements. This role is also responsible to maintain related SOPs, defining requirements for our (SmartSheet) Solution Architect and update training or job aids as needed.
This is a global role that will involve working with every function within the company (all Product & Services LOBs, the 3 Regions as well as the Marketing, Manufacturing, Procurement, Quality, Service, Finance, Digital Solutions Group, Learning & Development, Legal functions) to make sure the proper information is included in all the GPMO processes mentioned above.
Responsibilities:
- Own our global NPDI Processes, including Product and Services Offering Lifecycle (NPDI, Sustaining, and End of Life Processes), Global Requirements Management, and NPDI Resource Management. This includes continuous development and improvement to the workflows, and related documentation including SOPs, work instructions, and job aids.
- Work with participants and stakeholders of the NPDI processes to solicit business needs, critically review and capture feedback, recommend updates, and draft requirements for our solution architect and developers.
- Develop a Lessons Learned process for NPDI and establish related SOP, training, and KPIs
- Develop and maintain associated SOPs, training requirements and job aid for the NDPI processes
- Identify associated KPIs with NPDI process, develop methods to measure, analyze and improve as needed
- Provide requirements for SmartSheet templates or other tools to the NPDI Solution Architect as required to support the NPDI processes.
Requirements: - Bachelor's Degree required; Engineering preferred
- PMO Certification preferred; Smartsheet Certification preferred
- 10+ years as a Product Development related Project/Program Manager or Product Manager or Process Manager
- Extensive experience working in a phase-gate New Product Development process for Products or Services
- Significant experience leading workshops in a cross-functional collaborative environment
- Demonstrated experience soliciting input, critically reviewing, and formulating requirements, and working with developers to create, industrialize, and launch process and tool changes
- Ability to work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment with constantly changing priorities
- Experience managing global projects and offshore resources
- Experience in process design and the associated training, implementation, and governance
- Familiarity with all disciplines associated with Product Development (Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance, Quality, Procurement, Marketing, Sales, Legal, IT, Training, etc.)
- Highly Proficient with the Microsoft Suite of tools as well as Project Management software
- Familiarity with Power BI or other Data Visualization tools as well as Smartsheet capabilities
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent organizational, analytical, interpersonal, and decision-making skills
