Job description
Academic Genomics/Multiomics Bioinformatician Faculty in Pathology
Department of Pathology
Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Inc.
Harvard Medical School, Boston
The Department of Pathology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) is recruiting a full-time academic faculty member as Genomics/Multiomics Bioinformatician Faculty in Pathology. BIDMC is a tertiary care facility with 743 licensed beds and an internationally renowned principal teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School with NCI Comprehensive Cancer Center-affiliated Cancer Center.
The BIDMC Department of Pathology has launched new Strategic Initiatives in cutting-edge Precision Diagnostics (including cancer genomics/multiomics, multiplex biomarker theranostics, and computational/digital pathology). In addition, the department will be engaged in the newly announced and exciting clinical collaboration between Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, BIDMC, and Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians (HMFP) to establish New England’s only free-standing adult inpatient cancer hospital. The collaboration would bring together world-class clinicians to deliver transformational, precision medicine in an environment solely dedicated to defying cancer.
We are looking for an active, energetic, team-oriented faculty member to help us shape our future agenda and engage in areas that are being actively developed.
Strong expertise in molecular diagnostics (including NGS genomics/transcriptomics and proteomics) and computational bioinformatics (implementation, use, and updating of omics software and data analysis pipelines) is required. Strong interest in further developing the crucial role of Pathology in Precision Diagnostics (including developing new technologies and algorithms), clinical trials, and next gen companion diagnostics is desirable.
Candidates with a strong clinical, translational, or laboratory-based research program are particularly encouraged to apply. Suitable candidates may be supported by research space and start-up funds to expand their programs.
The successful candidate will join a highly dynamic and innovative team of Harvard faculty, residents, and fellows to support world-class diagnostics at BIDMC. The candidate will support the vibrant training programs, including pathology residency and fellowship programs.
Applicants must have a PhD, MD/PhD, or MD degree. Clinical board certification is not required.
The candidate will be appointed to the full-time faculty of Harvard Medical School at an academic rank commensurate with experience.

The Harvard-Thorndike Laboratory, the nation's oldest clinical research laboratory, has been located on this site since 1973. BIDMC also shares important clinical and research programs with institutions such as the Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Center, Joslin Diabetes Center, and Children's Hospital.
Who We Are

Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (HMFP) is one of the largest physician organizations in New England, dedicated to excellence and innovation in patient care, education, and research. As a physician-led organization, HMFP partners with more than 2,200 providers to support the delivery of exceptional care, promote professional development and diversity, and foster balance at work and home. HMFP physicians have faculty affiliations with Harvard Medical School (HMS) and provide care throughout the Beth Israel Lahey Health (BILH) system and additional hospitals across Massachusetts.
