BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
The Opportunity
Daikin Comfort Technologies Manufacturing, L.P. is seeking a skilled individual for our Business Development Manager position at our DTTP - Waller, TX location. The Business Development Marketing Manager will work closely with the North American distribution sales and controls engineering teams as well as independent distribution partners. Has a well-rounded background – with a strong working knowledge of contractor focused software solutions, multi-step distribution, and residential HVAC contractors’ business models. The ideal candidate is highly motivated self-starter, and team player. The BDM is responsible for driving adoption and topline revenue of Daikin’s Cloud Services solutions, as well as providing reporting and feedback mechanisms for a fast-growing group. About DTTP
Daikin Texas Technology Park- has a footprint of 4.23 million square feet under a single roof, and is the third largest factory in the United States. Opened in 2017 as the manufacturing, logistics, and engineering center for Daikin's American subsidiary Goodman, the plant makes heating and air conditioning products sold under the Goodman, Amana, and Daikin brands.

May include:
- Build a market engagement plan and developing a strategy to drive contractor adoption of Daikin One Cloud Services
- Work with regional leadership to ensure alignment of our services offering with localized goals and incentives to allow for quarter over quarter and year-over-year growth
- Articulate Daikin One Cloud Services capabilities and value to internal and external customers
- Drive adoption of and sales of Daikin One Cloud Services with Daikin dealers by working with Daikin’s internal sales team, external partners, and 3rd party stake holders
- Identify and explore new opportunities beyond the existing distribution channel by working with internal and external stakeholders
- Work effectively and professionally with regional sales teams, Daikin dealers, Cloud Services and Controls engineering teams, and other back-office resources during the sales / adoption cycle
- Provide regional technical and business trainings supporting Daikin sales teams and independent distribution partners
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of customers’ missions, capabilities, and business posture for technology initiatives
- As needed create sales tools and implementation plans for Daikin sales team and independent partners to ensure achievement of engagement and sales objectives
- Responsible for creating, disseminating, and updating reporting on strategic initiatives
- Collect, document, and share market intelligence on competitor’s solutions, including pricing, functionality, strategic focus, and adoption rates
- Identify markets that are underperforming, work with leaders to develop and provide solutions to meet current goals
- Perform additional projects/duties to support ongoing business needs
Nature & Scope:
- Applies advanced knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience
- Manages projects and processes while working independently and with limited supervision
- Coaches and reviews the work of lower-level professionals
- Problems faced are difficult and sometimes complex; takes a new perspective on existing solution
Knowledge & Skills:
- Comprehensive knowledge of HVAC business – business model (Distribution and rep channels), products (Unitary, and ductless), services, contractor business models, sales processes, and market trends
- Strong working knowledge of contractor focused software solutions, field service, technical, back office / business management solutions
- Proven track record of sales, marketing, and business development growth
- Strong ability to influence, interact and sell to a wide spectrum of clients, excellent customer relationship management skills
- Working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word & PowerPoint), and database applications, CRM, etc.
- Excellent analytical and quantitative skills – ability to translate data into quantifiable information and apply to business decisions
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with customers, vendors, and employees
- Goal-oriented, highly confident, self-motivated, and willing to work in a fast-paced team environment
- Ability to apply good judgment, strong work ethic and integrity on the job.
Experience:
- 10+ years of proven sales/business development experience in multi-step distribution channels, with a successful track record of exceeding sales plans
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in business or related field experience
