Law and Motion Attorney
Career Consulting Partners has formed a partnership with one of the most successful injury firms in the state of California.We seek a highly skilled and motivated Law and Motion Attorney to support our trial team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive support to the trial team by drafting and arguing motions conducting legal research and contributing to the overall success of our plaintiff injury firm.
This is a Hybrid position that will consist of 3 days in the office located in Downtown Los Angeles with the rest being work from home. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who wants to take on a small caseload and use their experience in writing motions and briefs to support a successful trial team.
Primary duties/responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Conduct comprehensive legal research on relevant statutes case law and legal precedents to support trial strategy.
- Stay updated on legal developments legislative changes and emerging trends affecting personal injury law.
- Draft and file motions pleadings and other legal documents necessary for personal injury cases.
- Prepare legal arguments and memoranda to support motions such as summary judgment discovery disputes and evidentiary matters.
- Represent the trial team in court by arguing motions and presenting legal arguments to the judge.
- Attend hearings related to personal injury cases advocating for the interests of the client.
- Assist in evaluating the legal merits and potential risks of personal injury cases.
- Provide legal opinions on the strengths and weaknesses of cases based on thorough analysis.
- Collaborate with trial attorneys to prepare for trial by drafting trial briefs legal memoranda and other necessary documents.
- Assist in the development of trial strategy and contribute to pretrial motions and arguments.
- Communicate with clients regarding the status of their cases legal strategies and potential outcomes.
- Address client concerns and provide legal advice on various aspects of personal injury litigation.
- Work with the trial team in managing the discovery process including drafting and responding to discovery requests.
- Ensure compliance with discovery rules and regulations.
- Analyze complex legal issues related to personal injury claims and provide insightful legal guidance to the trial team.
- Assist in the preparation of legal opinions memoranda and case evaluations.
- Work closely with trial attorneys paralegals and other legal professionals to ensure cohesive and effective legal representation.
- Provide support and expertise during trial team meetings and strategy sessions.
- Stay informed about changes in personal injury law procedural rules and legal best practices.
- Participate in ongoing legal education and training to enhance skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Licensed and in good standing with the California State Bar.
- Ability to quickly identify relevant authority.
- Proficiency with the Code of Civil Procedure and Evidence Code.
- Superior analytical and legal research skills.
- Ability to identify key facts from discovery deposition transcripts and other records and apply them to relevant case law.
- Proven track record of successfully supporting and opposing dispositive motions.
- Ability to perform well in a fastpaced environment.
- Reliably commute to or planning to relocate to Los Angeles CA (90010).
