PGL Environmental Consultants are seeking a full-time
Accounting Clerk for our Vancouver office who is interested in working in a fast-paced environment. Our head office is in downtown Vancouver; however, we have a flexible working-from-home/hybrid work policy. While we do encourage our staff to come into the office as able, we offer flexible work arrangements (37.5 hrs. work week). We conduct almost all meetings virtually to foster relationships.
Reporting to the Controller, t he Accounting Clerk in this role is responsible for supporting the Finance team with their daily accounting tasks. The Team provides a seamless workflow between our offices in Vancouver, Whitby, Victoria, Langley, and Calgary, to ensure internal customers receive the highest level of care. We are looking for an engaged and driven individual who can deliver quality services in a high-pace environment.
Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable - Processing full cycle A/P - Invoices, Company credit card transactions and Expense reports;
- Administering payments by cheque and EFTs;
- Reconciling vendor statements, and updating A/P sub-ledger;
- Resolving A/P issues, completing Credit applications.
Project Accounting & Accounts Receivable - Maintaining project files, updating budgets;
- Providing accounting support to PGL Project Managers and staff;
- Generating detailed billing reports and completing project invoices;
- Maintaining all aspects of accounts receivable and work-in-progress;
- Verifying and posting client payments, resolving discrepancies;
- Preparing A/R aging report, placing billing and collection calls;
- Liaising with clients and vendors.
Skills/Qualifications: - Education: Diploma in Accounting;
- Experience: 2+ years related experience preferably within a professional services/consulting firm;
- Working experience with ERP systems, i.e. Deltek Vision is an asset;
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills;
- A quick learner, with the ability to multi-task and work with tight and changing deadlines and priorities;
- The candidate should have the ability to work independently and as part of a team;
- Detail oriented, accurate and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment;
- Excellent organizational and communication skills;
- Excellent customer service orientation;
