Eastridge Workforce Solutions has partnered with a renowned leader in the construction of large infrastructure projects, in the search for an experienced Estimator , focused on large-scale foundation construction projects. This opportunity offers a Monday - Friday schedule, 1 day a week to work from home!
Summary
The Estimator will review proposal design specifications and engineering drawings to determine the scope of projects and prepare portions or full estimates for one or more specific techniques related to specialty foundation construction. The position reports to the Estimating Manager. Qualified candidates encouraged to apply for immediate consideration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review proposal specifications and drawings to determine the scope of work.
- Attend pre-bid meetings, conduct site visits; attend post-bid meetings and discuss/negotiate the scope of work.
- Review design options and recommend the best solution based on cost, engineering quality, or availability of materials.
- Prepare a complete takeoff of the scope of work.
- Assist in developing bid packages for subcontractors and suppliers.
- Work directly with staff and the operations department on completing various project estimates and documentation.
- Assist in the development of proposals and presentations.
- Maintain files of working documents as backup for estimate figures, including updated information on prices from suppliers.
- Organize and detail the estimate for review purposes and efficiently turn it over to operations personnel.
- Review and incorporate historical data from previous projects, purchase orders, subcontracts, and productivity analysis reports, etc., into current estimates.
- Perform additional assignments per the supervisor’s direction.
Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications, and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree (4 years) in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or equivalent.
- 3-5 years’ experience in estimating, cost control, and construction engineering within the heavy civil construction industry and deep foundation.
- Must possess knowledge of estimating techniques and cost control, as well as the ability to interpret computerized cost data and systems essential.
- Software skills to include HCSS Heavy Bid, AutoCAD, Excel proficient, and others.
- Previous experience working with Oracle Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.
- Ability to quickly learn new technology and business intelligence tools.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including excellent verbal/written communication.
- Ability to work in a dynamic and challenging environment.
