Job Summary:
As a Registered Nurse in our Progressive Care Unit (PCU), you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to patients who require intermediate-level monitoring and treatment. You will work in a dynamic healthcare environment, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients. Key Responsibilities:

  1. Patient Care: Provide direct patient care, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and implementing prescribed treatment plans in accordance with physician orders.
  2. Assessment and Monitoring: Conduct thorough assessments of patients' conditions and continuously monitor their progress, promptly identifying any changes or deterioration.
  3. Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including nursing assessments, care plans, and progress notes, ensuring compliance with legal and hospital regulations.
  4. Collaboration: Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to develop and adjust patient care plans, making evidence-based decisions to optimize patient outcomes.
  5. Education: Educate patients and their families on the plan of care, medications, and any necessary lifestyle modifications. Offer emotional support and answer questions to alleviate concerns.
  6. Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain specialized equipment used in the PCU, such as cardiac monitors, ventilators, and infusion pumps, ensuring patient safety and accuracy.
  7. Emergency Response: Respond promptly to changes in patient condition, initiate emergency protocols when necessary, and provide life-saving interventions as required.
  8. Quality Assurance: Adhere to hospital policies, quality standards, and infection control protocols to ensure patient safety and the highest level of care.
  9. Professional Development: Stay current with the latest advancements in nursing practice, attending continuing education programs and training sessions as required.
  10. Communication: Maintain effective communication with the healthcare team, patients, and their families, ensuring a collaborative and compassionate care environment.
Qualifications: Benefits :
PCU/Stepdown RN
20 bed unit
13 week assignment
36 hrs
12 hr nights, 7p-7:30a with an every other weekend/holiday requirement
AHA BLS & AHA ACLS requird
MA license
2 yrs of current PCU/Stepdown experience required
Must be willing to float to Med Surg as needed
EMR: Meditech
Scrub Color: Any
