Base Camp (Facilities and Camping Services) Director

Principle Responsibilities

● Effectively manage operations and assist supervisor in leading team

● Assist supervisor with campsite operations including cleaning, stocking, inventory, cleaning and preparation for participants and customers

● Assist base camp director with seasonal office and base camp head quarters set-up

● Ensure the safety use of vehicles and equipment used in your team

● Must be able to communicate effectively in person or on a telephone/two-way radio (verbal), in written form (email, im text, and word) and in person with staff, peers, guests/customers.

● Ensure work and customer areas are clean, organized, inspected, neat, and safe

● Ensure facilities and equipment are left clean and in good repair by both participants and staff

● Power wash, sanitize, and stock shower houses with toilet paper, paper towels, soap, etc.

● Lead team in basic maintenance and cleanliness of campsites and bathhouses

● Assist camping director on arrival and departure days

● Help clean and maintain all facilities and camping equipment

● Other duties or projects as assigned by SBR leadership

● Abide by policies and procedure outlined in the SBR staff handbook

Qualifications & Training

● 18 years of age or older

● Ability to use Microsoft Teams daily for work related communication and coordination

● Able to obtain SBR driving permit during orientation

● Be or become a registered member of the Boy Scouts of America

Performance Results

● Attend shift work on a needed basis

● Participate in meetings with Manager for communication and preparedness

Physical Requirements

● Up to 8 hours a day of either standing, walking, driving, hiking, and the ability to lift 70 lbs.
