Systems Analyst II
Job Description
SUMMARY
The purpose of this position is to evaluate business requirements for application, assist in the delivery of new or modified software systems enhancements and/or integration solutions, and provide application support to those systems and solutions. This position will serve as the intermediary for the lines of business to most areas of IT. Mentors junior-level analysts and ensures compliance with company policies and procedures. Communicate with Bank department managers and senior leadership to promote efficient and approved workflow.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
- Manage and/or participate in systems requirements, design, testing, training, implementation, and support initiatives.
- Document results of activities using the appropriate processes in accordance with the Bank’s documentation and project methodology standards.
- Ensures projects and work requests are implemented successfully with key milestone dates met.
- Coordinates roles, tasks, and delivery dates with key cross-functional departments and vendors.
- Maintain an awareness and comply with current Service Model and enterprise architecture standards and processes.
- Participate in the analysis and evaluation of current business and system processes, interfaces, and workflow.
- Recommend changes and enhancements to improve operational efficiency. Integrate IT activities with business units and other operational departments to ensure successful implementation and support of project, work request, and production efforts.
- Provide second and/or third level support for daily maintenance of applications including system administration and resolution of issues.
- Build and maintain strong business unit relationships and develop in-depth knowledge of their business needs and systems to effectively support those needs.
- Works with executives and senior management to ensure the delivery of a consistent, trusted experience for both internal and external customers.
- Actively participates in resource planning and work prioritization, ensuring alignment with the needs of the business unit and IT.
- Assists in maintaining and enforcing IT policies. Documents standard operating procedures, workflows, and systems.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participates in Change Control Committee.
- Adherence to all First United Policies and Procedures.
- Completes all required compliance exams on a yearly basis.
- Travel up to 10% of the time may be necessary.
- Other duties as assigned by manager.
EMPLOYEE SPECIFICATIONS

Education and Work Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related from an accredited four-year college or university.
- 5 or more years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience.
- 5 or more years of retail banking, deposit or lending operations or line of business experience.
- 4 or more years of business analyst support with a major core banking system acting as liaison between the business units, technical staff and/or system provider.
- Intermediate to advanced skills using suite of Microsoft Office products.
- Project management or team lead experience in new system implementations, conversions and/or system application upgrades and releases is highly preferred.
- Project management, including documentation, team leadership, and communications to effectively lead a team from vision to implementation.
Technical/Functional Competencies
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, use cases, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information to senior management and respond to questions from groups of managers, internal customers, and vendors.
- Ability to translate technical information to non-technical audiences.
- Ability to translate business needs into technical specifications.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as interest, discounts, commissions, and percentages.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Ability to effectively adapt to rapidly changing priorities and technology.
- Highly knowledgeable of relevant operational policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Possess the ability to train others and clearly document standard operating procedures.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
- Knowledge of bank products and services.
- Adherence to deadlines and work schedules
- Attention to detail.
