Iowa Department of Transportation’s Mission is Making Lives Better Through Transportation. To accomplish our Mission, the person selected for this position will demonstrate actions and behaviors guided by the Iowa Department of Transportation’s five CORE values: Safety First, People Matter, Customer Focused, Servant Leadership, and Integrity Without Exception.


We are seeking an experienced Training Specialist 1 to serve in the MVD Learning & Development Unit of the Motor Vehicle Division (MVD). This unit is responsible for directing and implementing comprehensive new and continuing educational and training programs for over 200 internal staff, and over 800 county treasurer staff. This person will collaborate to design and prepare training and development curriculum.


Developed training will impact those engaged in credential issuance services under Chapter 321M for Iowa's 2.2 million driver's license holders and over 800 county treasurer staff who process vehicle title and registration applications for over 4 million registered vehicles in the state.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university;

OR

a combination of education and experience to total four years, substituting experience equal to one year of full-time work in the following areas for each thirty semester hours of qualifying coursework:

OR

employees with current, continuous experience in the state executive branch equal to three years of full-time qualifying work.
