Job description
Blue Sky eLearn is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Staff Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the day-to-day operations of the Finance team, including but not limited to, accounts payable, billing, collections, month end close, and office support.
The position is based out of our San Diego, CA office with two days in the office each week.
Responsibilities
- Process vendor invoices timely and ensure accurate department approvals and GL coding.
- Review customer contracts and generate customer invoices in accordance with the terms of the agreement.
- Ensure the proper recognition of deferred revenue related to customer invoices.
- Communicate regularly with vendors, customers, and BlueSky eLearn employees to resolve issues and answer questions.
- Manage collections and ensure timely receipt of customer payments, utilizing email reminders, follow ups, and phone calls.
- Code monthly credit card transactions and perform monthly reconciliations.
- Process and apply daily cash receipts and bank deposits.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including but not limited to, prepaid expenses, credit cards, and bank account.
- Assist with occasional office administration tasks, including but not limited to, ordering office and break room supplies and lunches.
- Assist with annual financial audit requests.
- Other duties and support and assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
- 2-3 years of proven experience as a Staff Accountant
- Solid understanding of generally accepted accounting standards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and organization.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft products.
- Team player with a positive attitude.
