Job description
POSITION SUMMARY:
Drive a regular bus route to transport students and other authorized persons to and from school, as well as additional driving for field trips or other extra trips as designated.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
1. Maintain discipline of students and report misbehavior.
2. Check vehicle equipment, and fuel prior to each departure; report any irregularities or trouble with equipment.
3. Maintain consistent safety standards.
4. Participate in bus driver training courses as scheduled by the Bus Driver Lead.
5. Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High school diploma is required.
2. Valid Washington State Commercial Driver’s License with school bus and passenger endorsements; current Medical Examiners Certificate and first aid certification; and driving record free of chargeable accidents or traffic violations.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Previous experience as a bus driver or in the transportation field.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
1. Must have good communication skills to build rapport with students and parents.
2. Must be able to remain in stationary position more than 50% of the time.

Additional driving for field trips as designated.
HOURS: Part-time/10 months per year
Approx. 5:45 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on all school days.
