Chemistry Technician Hercules CA | On-Site Entry Date: 7 FEB 2024 X-Therma, a venture backed biotech company pioneers ground-breaking cold chain technology via a convergent bio preservation platform, to advance Regenerative Medicine and make available safe and on-demand organs, engineered tissues, and cell & gene therapies to patients in need. Immediately, the technology could resolve current bottlenecks in Regenerative Medicine biomanufacturing and processing and allow “off-the-shelf" living medicines in this hyper-growth space. To strengthen our growing team in Hercules, we are looking for a GMP synthesis and purification technician to ensure the timely and accurate synthesis, purification, and characterization of synthetic compounds. This role demands a highly goal-driven approach and the ability to focus on time-sensitive objectives within the most urgent priorities. What you will do: Chemical Synthesis: Execute the synthesis of molecules in a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) environment. Ensure the production of high-quality and consistent compounds. Ability to handle large volumes of chemicals safely. Experience with basic laboratory techniques such as solvent and sample preparation, pipetting, sample filtration etc. Implement and follow a routine chemical synthesis schedule reaching monthly targets. Maintain a clean and well-organized laboratory space. Experience with aseptic filling techniques is desirable. Process Optimization: Collaborate with the R&D team to optimize synthesis processes. Identify key areas for process improvement. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that may arise during production. Quality Control: Perform rigorous quality control tests on synthesized molecules. Document and report any deviations from quality standards. Experience working with quality assurance to resolve deviations is a plus. GMP Compliance: Adhere to GMP guidelines and protocols throughout the synthesis process. Participate in audits and inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines in the manufacturing environment. Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and calibrate equipment to ensure optimal performance. Identify and address any equipment malfunctions promptly. Documentation: Maintain detailed and accurate records of all synthesis processes, including batch records and logbooks. Contribute to the preparation of reports for internal and external stakeholders. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and quality control. Participate in team meetings to discuss production schedules and process improvements. Willingness to embrace versatility and adaptability in a dynamic startup environment is needed. Qualification: ~ Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biochemistry, or a related field. ~2+ years experience in peptoid synthesis, particularly in a regulated environment. ~ Strong understanding of GMP regulations and compliance requirements. ~ Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. ~ Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality results. ~ Effective communication and collaboration skills. ~ Knowledge of regulatory requirements for pharmaceutical or biotechnology products. ~ Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times and work in a chemical laboratory.
