The Director, Paid Search is a leadership position within the Search department responsible for leading strategy on a mid-size or large client team and partnering with Client Engagement and media leadership to identify growth opportunities. This individual provides critical support to the d VP, Search by advancing the discipline, contributing to new business pitches and assisting in career management within the Search team.
What you'll do:
Core Craft Skills
Is accountable for overall paid search strategy and integrated results across all relevant services.
Directs in-depth, quantitative analysis to identify areas of risk and opportunity.
Collaborates with the internal team on holistic media planning and measurement.
Is responsible for delivering on-going, timely thought capital.
Demonstrates a “big picture” understanding of the client’s marketing strategy.
Possesses the ability to elevate complex ideas and influence a senior audience.
Actively develops relationships with key senior-level contacts.
Client Exposure
Oversees all paid search related activities on specific account(s).
Supports Client Engagement with business assessments to manage client P&L.
Business Development
Recognizes business development opportunities with existing clients, consults with Client Engagement, supports new Media proposals.
Supports business development efforts with existing and new clients
Business Operations
Support upselling services
Key participant in business development for media pitches
Team Leadership
Manages a team of 5-7 Search professionals.
Consults on client team staffing and training.
Participates in internal management training to develop leadership competency.
Agency Leadership
Facilitates internal training/knowledge sharing within Search discipline.
Owns a Search discipline development initiative (e.g. marketing, publisher relations committee, analytics, training program).
Supports Search Director/VP with team administrative duties (performance management, recruiting, retention, knowledge sharing).
Develops thought capital and POVs related to Search and digital landscape in general
Represents the agency at industry events.
What we are looking for:
Milestones
Has successfully owned search strategy including audience development and optimizations across a variety of industries.
Has supported and played a key role in several high-profile new business pitch.
Has proactively contributed to thought capital and knowledge sharing.
Has coordinated internal training effort and developed new processes.
Has shown emerging thought leadership capabilities (attends conferences and speaks on panels).
Experience
10 years of paid search experience.
3+ years in a supervisory role and a track record of successful leadership and coaching.
2+ years in client service with a passion for meeting client needs and building their business.
Education
BA/BS degree in a related field required, MBA/Master’s a plus, or equivalent experience.

Compensation Range: $91,000 - $154,000 annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills,
