Job description

The OHSU Department of Psychiatry, part of the OHSU Brain Institute, focuses on providing excellent clinical treatment to our patients, leading innovative research, and offering hands-on training for the next generation of psychiatrists. The inpatient geriatric psychiatry facility at Hillsboro Medical Center provides coordinated care for the unique needs of older adults need of short term crisis stabilization to improve their quality of life and well-being.

The Associate Medical Director’s primary function is to support the Geri Psychiatry Medical Director provide structure to the clinical function of the Geriatric Psychiatry Clinic at OHSU. This role includes four days of direct clinical care of patients needing psychiatric evaluation and treatment and one day of administrative duties.

 

The Associate Medical Director is responsible for managing the operational and administrative aspects of the unit. This position will create policies and procedures for the Geri Psych Unit, help with staff scheduling, and provide for general unit cohesion. This position will be the main point of contact for all issues including time off and last-minute outages. 

MD/DO/APRN with board certification or expertise in Psychiatry; have or be able to obtain a license to practice medicine in the State of Oregon; have and maintain a DEA license in Oregon; minimum of 5 years Psychiatric practice and a minimum of 5 years of successful leadership and people management experience (can be concurrent).
