Job description

Are you an experienced Minnesota   Registered Nurse (RN) looking to support RN Directors of Health Services in Assisted Living senior communities by working in a remote, on-call role? Are you knowledgeable about the processes and regulations for Minnesota Assisted Living sites? If you live in Minnesota and if you answered “yes,” we want you on our After-Hours RN team at Cassia!

In this RN After Hours  role, your primary job is triaging calls from staff that are emergent, related to medication questions, PRN permission, transcribing orders from Hospice or Hospitals after-hours, working with the pharmacy for any medications that are missing, and adding services for falls, Covid, Influenza. This is a support role, as each on call nurse will be supporting the Directors of Cassia’s assisted living facilities, in all regards excluding staffing incidents. This team of remote works are united and want to welcome a hardworking, driven nurse to join the family-like atmosphere, where ideas are heard, understood, and support of family and healthy work-life balance are top priority.

In this role, you are required to become licensed in IA, ND, FL and CO, too. Cassia will pay for this expense.

Monday through Friday Hours: 5:00 pm to 7:00 am, or 6:00 pm to 11:00 pm

Saturday and Sunday Hours: 7:00 pm to 7:00 am, or 7:00 am to 7:00 pm, or 10:00 am to 3:00 pm

These jobs are remote with on-call availability as well.

Registered Nurse (RN) skills and requirements:

• Must have a current Minnesota RN license and be in good standing.
• Ability to come to the Edina, MN office for one week of training.
• Prior RN experience required; must be comfortable with resident care processes in AL setting and/or long-term care.
• Be responsive and knowledgeable to earn trust from Assisted Living staff, residents, and families. 
• Must have strong communication, organizational and critical thinking skills.
• Have experience with electronic medical records, Eldermark, possess a high comfort level learning new technology programs, possess excellent internet connection
• Self-starter with a desire to be a part of our RN On Call team that delivers the continuity of care during after-hours.
• Understand that this is a Director of Health Services support role, and that calls will relate to delegation, education, and problem solving, as well as emergent situations.
• Teamwork is essential to this dynamic, as two nurses work together. Effective communication remote skills is a must, with caregivers and other nurses.
• This role is a support role to Directors, as such it is the goal that on call nurses will work to triage each call, and do the best that they can to handle each situation by assisting staff problem solve and work through most scenarios.
• Be available to train in-person at Cassia's corporate office in Edina, MN.

This is a newly established department, that is about to reach one year of operation in supporting Cassia. There are over 35 assisted living sites that on call nurses take calls for. There are two nurses on at once during the higher call volume times. This department is growing, and learning, and would love to hear any ideas that you would bring to the table.
