Job Description:
Software Engineer II writes code and solve business problems in a team environment. This role is responsible to take a request and break it down to functional tasks and complete in a timely manner. This role is also responsible for building defined features, Investigate and fix issues and bugs. The Software Engineer II is fluent in one or more programming languages like C#,.Net, Angular, Typescript. This individual is also fluent in understanding databases and writing T-SQL. The individual should have strong problem solving skills and provide high level status updates, write test plans, take responsibility of their work and meet them. This role also mentors junior developers and Co-ops.
Essential Functions
- Write high-quality code that satisfies customer needs and strives for simplicity, clarity, and testability
- Promote a collaborative team environment and work closely with colleagues to achieve business objectives
- Collaborate with stakeholders (e.g., business stakeholders, product owners, project managers, and end users) to understand functional and non-functional requirements
- Investigate and propose solutions to development and design problems
- Participate in scope of work estimation and forecasting
- Perform according to architecture, design, implementation, and security standards and best practices
- Participate in code reviews or use collaborative programming techniques to promote high quality business outcomes
- Support integration needs as needed and recommended by architect/ team lead
- Implement unit and integration tests and conduct functional and performance testing where appropriate
- Develop reusable software building blocks to enable timely delivery
- Diagnose and resolve critical issues. of existing software
- Prepare technical documentation, including software design evaluation plans, test results, and technical manuals
- Follow established development practices and processes. Provide excellent second-tier customer support and troubleshoot developed solutions

Education, Licenses, and Certifications
Required
- High School Diploma or GED
Preferred - Bachelor's in computer science or Coursework in Computer Science, Information Systems or an equivalent area of study Knowledge in programming and scripting languages such as Java, TypeScript, C#, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, and experience preferred
Experience Required
- 3 years of practical experience in software development and building corporate applications
- 3 years of hands-on experience with Object Oriented Design and Development (Java, C#, Typescript etc.), Web Technologies (HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, Angular, ASP.Net, etc.)
Preferred - 3+ years of experience building corporate applications
- 2+ years Agile/Scrum software development experience
- 2+ years of experience in building modern JavaScript/Typescript based applications and/or development frameworks such as Angular, Node.js, jQuery, etc.in a corporate environment.
- Experience in DXP platforms like Liferay.
