Job description
The Cardiac Catheterization/Special Procedures Technologist is a technical resource and provides scrub assistance to the cardiologists and interventional radiologists in the performance of diagnostic and therapeutic interventional cardiac and peripheral vascular procedures/interventional procedures. The Cardiac Catheterization/Special Procedures Technologist will prepare for and perform all cardiac and vascular imaging procedures and interventional procedures, displaying knowledge of exams and equipment. They will troubleshoot minor equipment malfunctions, keep accurate records of all patients, equipment, quality control, and maintenance. They are responsible for maintaining appropriate par levels of supplies in the Cardiac Cath/Special Procedures Lab.
Minimum Education: Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program Minimum Experience/Knowledge: 2-years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist, previous angiography or cardiac cath experience preferred. Electrophysiology (EPS, A-Fib/SVT/VT ablation, 3D Mapping) experience desired. Interventional peripheral vascular (PTA, Stent, Laser atherectomy, Carotid Stenting) experience desired. Structural heart repair (TAVR, TMVR-MitraClip, Pulmonic Valve insertion, Septal Closure) experience desired. Cardiac Support device (IABP, Impella, Tandem Heart, ECMO) experience desired. Experience in performance of diagnostic and therapeutic interventional procedures desired. Required License/Certification: Certified Radiologic Technologist and Fluoroscopy license issued by the State of California and ARRT certification required. Advanced ARRT certification in Vascular, Cardiac, or Cardiovascular Radiography preferred. All certifications must be active effective date of hire/transfer unless otherwise indicated.
