Director of Surgery Central Valley, California Level II Trauma Hospital Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Surgery to join our dynamic healthcare team at a Level II Trauma Hospital located in the scenic Central Valley of California. As the Director of Surgery, you will play a pivotal role in leading and managing the surgical department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care, and contributing to the overall success of the hospital. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic direction for the surgical department, aligning goals with the overall hospital mission and vision. Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of skilled surgeons, nurses, and support staff, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment. Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain quality assurance programs to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and best practices in surgical procedures. Budget Oversight: Manage the surgical department budget, optimizing resources and identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising patient care. Collaboration: Collaborate with other hospital departments to enhance interdisciplinary communication and improve patient outcomes. Training and Development: Oversee the training and professional development of surgical staff, staying abreast of industry advancements and incorporating best practices. Patient Advocacy: Advocate for patient safety, satisfaction, and quality of care, ensuring that the surgical department meets or exceeds patient expectations. Qualifications: Medical degree with board certification in surgery. California State RN License. Proven leadership experience in a surgical setting, preferably in a trauma hospital. Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and quality assurance in surgical procedures. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to make sound decisions in high-pressure situations.
