Overview of Responsibilities:Plans, leads, and manages all areas of responsibility including facility operations and maintenance, new branch construction, purchasing and inventory, vendor relations, leasing and tenant facilities, and building safety and security to ensure the financial objectives, strategic goals, and institutional growth targets are met in accordance with MSGCU’s policies and state and federal government regulations, and in alignment with our desired member experience. Responsible for the efficient and effective management of the Facilities Departments as well as all property locations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversees the inspection and maintenance of all MSGCU’s interior/exterior environments to ensure facilities are professional in appearance, accessible, and safe. Ensures maintenance programs related to interior/exterior conditions, appearance, and operation of facilities and equipment deliver an exceptional team member and member-focused experience.
- Manages complex facilities projects including project management for new and remodeled branch locations, space planning and equipment moves, building safety and security systems, and vendor relationship management while minimizing member and team member impact. Makes sense of complex, high quantity, and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems. Anticipates and balances the needs of all stakeholders and proactively resolves issues and challenges.
- Makes good and timely decisions using sound rationale, taking into consideration risk, cost, organizational impact, regulations, data, and other important factors to keep the organization moving forward. Ensures the overall effectiveness of projects and initiatives in alignment with the organization’s focus and direction.
- Secures and deploys resources effectively and efficiently to achieve desired results.
- Plans, aligns, and directs work by providing clear directions, delegating effectively, removing obstacles to get work done in order to meet commitments aligned with organizational goals as it relates managing construction for any new or existing branches, managing installation of furnishings, equipment, supplies, and décor.
- Ensures preventative maintenance of equipment and facilities on an ongoing basis and recommends any needed replacements.
- Ensures compliance with all local, state, and federal safety and facility legal requirements.
- Holds self and others accountable for the overall quality of MSGCU’s facilities practices. Responsible for the cost-effective management of service contracts including all aspects of service delivery pursuant to these contracts; responsible for periodic and ongoing performance and financial review, conducting RFP’s, and assuring payments and invoicing match contract pricing.
- Oversees MSGCU’s purchasing function ensuring effective and efficient request, ordering and delivery processes. Develops and monitors purchasing policies and procedures.
- Collaborates effectively with others across the organization to meet MSGCU’s objectives, improve relationships, develop teamwork, and deliver high quality results. Coordinates with other departments and manages vendors to move project initiatives forward and resolve barriers to progress.

Essential Preparation and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Construction, Facilities, Maintenance, or related field or the equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience; and
- 5 years of related, progressively more responsible experience in Facilities, Building Construction, Maintenance, or related field; and
- 3 years of leadership experience.
- Certification from professional facilities management organization, preferred.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- General knowledge of construction processes. Ability to read and understand architectural documents including blueprints.
- High level understanding of tenant and vendor coordination.
- Knowledge of building security and safety procedures.
- Familiarity with mechanical, electrical, and HVAC equipment and systems.
- Knowledge of project management processes.
- Knowledge of local, state, and national laws, ordinances, codes, and regulations pertaining to the building industry and safety practices.
- Thorough understanding of management procedures with the ability to plan department activities, set objectives, develop strategies, and budget. Possesses the skills necessary to direct team members towards the desired objectives; controlling the function by developing performance standards, measuring results, taking corrective action, and rewarding team members as appropriate.
- Excellent organizational, time, and resource management skills that enable and support collaboration with fellow managers.
- Strong coaching, mentoring, and overall leadership, management, and development of team members using positive management techniques to ensure maximum effectiveness while overseeing area of responsibility.
Working Conditions:
- Office and branch location environment, with occasional new construction site visits and periodic outdoor assignments. Little discomfort from noise, extreme temperature, dust, or other factors. Some travel to branch locations. Team member to provide own transportation with eligibility for on-the-job mileage reimbursement.
- Exposed to potentially hazardous conditions, such as robbery. Receives detailed instructions and security procedures on an annual basis to minimize risk.
- Strength Level – Medium: Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move heavy objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Working hours: Standard MSGCU branch and administrative office hours of operation, opening of building daily as assigned. Periodic weekends and/or before/after normal work hours.
Compensation and Benefits:

- Base pay pay begins at $85,000 / year

- If you are at least 21 years old, you will receive a 3% contribution from MSGCU, and a 100% match for the next 7% you contribute to your 401(k)
- You will enjoy 12 paid holidays and up to 120 hours of PTO your first year of service (pro-rated based on start date)
