Program Manager, El Paso, TX (Full-Time)

Common Threads is seeking a passionate, results-oriented Program Manager (PM) to lead our El Paso program operations. The PM would be responsible for growing and maintaining relationships with school districts, city leaders, community-based organizations, healthcare institutions and managing the implementation of Common Threads’ in-school and after-school programs. They are also responsible for maintaining a high quality of implementation, scheduling, auditing, and communication with school administrators, community partners, and Common Threads Teammates. An ideal candidate would be an expert in project management, partnership development and quality assurance and compliance of programming in El Paso, TX. 

This is a full-time, exempt position that reports to the Senior Program Manager-TX. This role will be a work-from-home position based in El Paso, with regular local travel to school and community partner sites, and occasional travel outside of El Paso. Administrative work will be completed from your home office. 

Responsibilities: 

Program Management

Manage school, healthcare, and community partner relationships in El Paso including:

• Recruiting new schools and kitchens for partnerships per network growth goal
• Working with school administration and teachers to schedule and implement programs
• Lead partnership planning and implementation with local healthcare institutions to bring food as health programs to El Paso
• Collaborate with speciality crop farmers and purveyors to source and procure local ingredients for programs 
• Manage specific program pieces such as rosters, curriculum, generate quarterly and annual grant reports detailing grant progress and achievements

Team Management

• Establish and execute programmatic goals for the market by managing key partners, stewarding relationships, and appropriately documenting in Salesforce (CRM)
• Carry out regular check-in meetings to ensure the team is meeting program quality metrics 
• Manage part-time staff members
• Lead hiring for all El Paso Program team positions, as needed
• Manage communications to program staff, main contacts, and volunteers to provide them with clear expectations and to assure that classes run as scheduled.
• Work in collaboration with Education & Training Manager to develop new recipes and menus
• Support the Recipe Council to review and develop new recipes and menus that align with specialty crop lessons
• Support recruitment of local chefs to develop new menus
• Work in collaboration with the Research & Evaluation team to provide comprehensive program evaluation 
• Conduct in-person observations to assess the fidelity of program implementation and adherence to the curriculum 
• Oversee data collection, including the administration of both pre-and post-surveys, as well as consent forms, assent forms, attendance rosters, and other data collection tools as needed 
• Lead and ensure accurate and timely compliance reporting
• Collaborate with external research team to identify, recruit, plan and facilitate community focus groups

Partnership Development

• Build and maintain relationships with schools, community-based organization, healthcare institutions, funders and stakeholders as part of our focus on Policy, Systems, and Environment 
• Support planning process for meeting partnership development goals and targets\
• Coordinate and facilitate special events at schools, community-based organizations, and other fundraising events representing and being an advocate for Common Threads
• Increase brand awareness of Common Threads and represent CT at community and district events/meetings

Qualifications:

• 2-4+ years’ experience in nonprofit organizations
• 1-2+ years’ experience with direct staff management and supervision of staff 
• Computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel, Outlook, and Google Drive documents
• Must have access to car/public transportation and willing to travel locally as needed in El Paso
• Experience working with culturally diverse audiences
• Comfortable using written tools for assessing readiness, partner needs, and quality of programs
• Strong organizational, time management, and logical thinking skills; must be task-oriented with a keen attention to detail
• Possess a positive attitude and a passion for wellness, food access, equity, and making a positive impact on society
• Strong skills in written & verbal communication and adapting role and communication style depending on the task
• Ability to work within a mission-driven environment to develop professional and respectful relationships with people both internal and external to Common Threads
• Ability to work independently and remotely with confidence and outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written

Preferred:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree preferred, in a relevant field (Public Health, Nutrition)
• Knowledge of nutrition and cooking, and understanding of healthcare settings 
• Experience with other software, including Salesforce, Slack and Asana
• Experience working with external stakeholders, including donors and board members

Regular travel is required for business purposes, and employees will be compensated for mileage incurred during official travel. Reimbursement is for the use of a personal vehicle or public transportation and excludes rideshares.
