Job description
The College of Veterinary Medicine, Cornell University, seeks a self-motivated and mission-focused Technician III to support the research performed in the Kimura lab in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology.
Overview of the research at the Kimura lab: The lab uses diverse approaches, including bacterial genetics, biochemical approaches, animal infection models, and next generation sequencing techniques to study the mechanisms underpinning bacterial pathogenesis.
In this position you will work with a research team on one or more projects to study pathogens' translation modulation mechanisms as a part of an effort to deepen our understanding of bacterial pathogenesis and lay the foundation of new therapeutics.

Please note that this position is 39 hours per week, with a one-year appointment, subject to renewal based on performance and available funding. Must be comfortable in handling mice and rabbits after initial training.
What you have:
This position requires successfully completing Cornell training courses (i.e., animal use, radioisotope use, chemical safety), if not already completed.
