Description/Job Summary

The Family Education Support Program (FESP) is an intensive, short term, crisis intervention and stabilization program that serves families in which at least one child is at risk of removal from the parents’/caretaker’s home due to abuse (physical, emotional, sexual, or psychological), neglect, parent-child conflict, or family instability. The goal of the program is to preserve the family while ensuring the safety of the children and helping the family learn new skills to stay together successfully. The FESP Specialist carries no more than 5 cases at beginning stages of more intensive service need, but can carry up to 8 cases that moved beyond the need for five hours of service per week, or any combination of the two. The FESP Specialist utilizes a flexible work schedule that enables them to be accessible to their families when the family is available or when the family is experiencing difficulty. The FESP Specialist will utilize an agency approved evidence based parenting program and will utilize the NCFAS in the development of the case service plan.
