Job Summary

The Assessment & Patron Experience Librarian promotes a culture of assessment that aligns Kaufman Library with Georgia Gwinnett College's values and objectives by building capacity and momentum through every area in the library. This position catalyzes change within the library by delivering evidence and analysis that informs optimal decision-making and improves the library's standing within the life of the institution, articulating and evolving the quality of life for all GGC constituents.

The position reports to the Head of Research Services and participates in all functions of that unit, including reference services and information literacy instruction in support of GGC's student success and research goals. The position is a library liaison to one or more GGC faculty departments. The position informs the library's best practices for planning, decision-making, and leadership strategies in professional issues and organizational development while partnering with GGC's Academic Assessment office and related administrative units. Responsibilities

Function 1 -
Selects tools appropriate to align assessment activities with institutional mission and priorities

Function 2 -
Develops, implements, and maintains systems to collect, hold, and disseminate data for internal decision-making and external reporting

Function 3 -
Monitors and describes current issues related to higher education accountability, systematic assessment initiatives, and pertinent accreditation that guides higher education assessment; stays current with accreditation compliance requirements specific to library data requirements

Function 4 -
Designs research based on appropriate theoretical foundations and guides internal compliance for data-gathering and analysis

Function 5 -
Frames and communicates library impact on institutional focus areas, such as information literacy

Function 6 -
Promotes assessment and analytics to the entire library staff that enable improved measures of program, services, and resource utilization

Function 7 -
Addresses barriers that limit access to library services via any lawful collection of evidence

Function 8 -
Delivers reference, information literacy, library orientation, and other public services

Function 9 -
Participates in service-point staffing in person and online to meet GGC's information needs Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Graduate Degree in American Library Association-approved Master of Library and Information Science degree

Other Required Qualifications
American Library Association-approved Master of Library and Information Science degree
Minimum of 2 years of library experience Preferred Qualifications

Additional Preferred Qualifications
Experience with evaluation methodologies and assessment research literature related to academic libraries
Experience with contemporary assessment tools and techniques
Experience with policy and procedure development and implementation
Experience developing, delivering, and assessing innovative public services, including reference, information literacy, instructional technology, and research support
Experience with LibQUAL+, ROI, NSSE, IPEDS/NCES, or related assessment methods for libraries
Experience with data reporting for ACRL, ARL, or related accreditation reports for libraries
Experience with software applications and data visualization tools, such as SPSS or ATLAS.ti
Experience working with institutional review boards to protect the dignity of all human subjects, including especially students and library workers
Supervisory experience with both personnel and program evaluations
Significant coursework or demonstrable training in cultural anthropology, sociology, or other field(s) with data analysis emphasis
