Job description

Primary Function:

The Buyer is responsible for managing all aspects of Vetios raw material and packaging procurement by identifying the material needs of the organization, negotiating terms including pricing, lead times, and Minimum Order Quantities (MOQs), and arranging for the purchase and delivery of the goods to meet production demands. This includes interfacing with vendors, warehouse, production, quality, and other internal departments and external partners to coordinate procurement of raw materials and packaging components effectively. The Buyer is also responsible for investigating and resolving inventory issues and actively contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

· Ensuring supplier & product information (LT & MOQ) is accurate in Vetios systems and adjusting as needed to keep up to date

· Owning the Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) activities using Vetios ERP system; communicating MRP data throughout organization as needed to make critical decisions

· Negotiating pricing for materials to reduce costs, as well as MOQs and lead times

· Sourcing new materials and locating alternative suppliers for existing materials to reduce business risk

· Actively participating in daily operations planning meetings

· Nurturing vendor relationships and establishing strategic partnerships

· Communicating and escalating purchase order delays and proactively taking steps to mitigate production / business impact

· Managing essential supply chain data entries and analyses, including but not limited to:

o Supplier purchase orders and open order reports

o Schedule date changes to purchase orders

o Tracking material availability (raw materials & packaging components) to meet monthly production plan

o Monitoring inventory turns to minimize levels of on hand inventory

· Collaborating across departments to resolve supply chain issues and minimize impact of unforeseen supply chain disruptions

· Sourcing of new projects up to & including samples for QC & R&D approvals and pilots

· Working closely with the Supply Chain Manager to drive improvements in overall supply chain efficiency.

· Maintaining Vendor Scorecard & on time deliveries

· Directing, coordinating, and negotiating FOB Origin shipments with freight forwarders and customs brokers

Skills & Knowledge Required:

· Associates or Bachelors (preferred) in Supply Chain or Business

· Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience

· Experience with MRP & ERP systems, SAP a plus

· Familiar with working in large data sets and building excel analyses

· Critical/analytical thinking and problem-solving skills

· Comfortable & adaptable in a dynamic environment

· High attention to detail and strong sense of urgency

· Ability to prioritize and deliver results based on deadlines

· Strong communications skills to internal stakeholders, suppliers, and customers

· Experience working in a team environment

· Comfortable collaborating across various departments within Vetio (i.e.: Quality, R&D, and Operations) to achieve results
