Opportunity: Storeroom Attendant
The storeroom attendant is responsible for efficient ordering, receiving and distribution of hotel’s food and beverage goods and services. He/she is also responsible for assisting with Food & Beverage controls through inventory turnover, physical inventories, and maintaining par stock levels in accordance with hotel business levels.
Essential Job Functions
- Communicates with F&B Director and Executive Chef to order all F&B products according to hotel and restaurant needs and specifications.
- Schedules deliveries of food and beverage items.
- Orders, receives and delivers paper products, food and beverages to all departments on a daily basis.
- Checks with bartenders if they need anything else before going home for the day.
- Monitors the grades and quality of products received to ensure they meet the hotel's established standards.
- Ensures appropriate levels of inventories are maintained to minimize waste and maximize ratio turnover.
- Participates in hotel meetings including monthly staff, F&B, Rooms, Resume, etc.
- Practices safe work habits, wear protective safety equipment and follow MSDS and OSHA standards.
- Performs other duties as requested by management.
- Inventories and orders products in Birchstreet based on pars set.
- Checks shipments by comparing it with Purchase Order and/or invoice to ensure that what we are receiving is what was ordered (quantity, price, quality state, size, count, weight tolerance, and acceptable expiration date and received at the proper temperature).
- Receives orders and rotates stock when putting the orders away. All incoming products need to be rotated in FIFO (first in, first out) and dated to ensure the products are rotated properly to avoid spillage.
- Assist in End-of-Month physical inventory.
- Any other tasks assigned by leaders.
Hotel Specific Essential Functions
- Inventory and placing orders on Birchstreet.
- Receive invoices in the Birchstreet program.
- Proper use of Restaurant 365.
- Maintain cleanliness in coolers and freezers.
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen dry storage.
- Maintain cleanliness of all beverage storage areas.
Position Requirements
- High School diploma required.
- Must have knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages.
- Knowledge of all applicable liquor codes (i.e. Federal, State, City and County liquor codes).
- Must possess basic mathematical skills and the ability to use a calculator to prepare moderately calculations without error such as determining average covers.
- Strong familiarization with food and beverage financial systems and controls.
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time while touring food and beverage outlets. Ability to sit and perform tasks in an office atmosphere.
- Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system when applicable.
- Ability to comprehend written product labeling to ensure safe application of products and processes within the Hotel.
