POSITION TITLE: Family-Based Treatment for Eating Disorders (FBT) Intake Coordinator (FT or PT)

REPORTS TO: FBT Program Supervisor

JOB OBJECTIVES: Working as a member of the agency's clinical staff team, the FBT Intake Coordinator: 1) provides a range of clinical services, including but not limited to intakes, screening (FBT and Counseling), consultation with families to determine appropriateness of participation in FBT Program, case management, triage, referral and linkage, and crisis intervention to prospective agency clients; and, 2) offers psycho-educational programs and services to targeted groups and the community at-large, as needed for FBT Program; and 3) Assists the FBT Program Supervisor with FBT related tasks including but not limited to projects, statistics, administrative duties, and program development.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Completes all aspects of FBT intakes and inquiries and Counseling Program as needed

• Assists Agency Intake Coordinator as needed with all pre-treatment services related to perspective and current clients in Counseling Program

• Provides assessment, linkage, and referral services to both prospective and current agency FBT clients


• At a minimum meets weekly with FBT Program Supervisor for supervision

• Provides administrative support to FBT Program Supervisor

• Schedules clients for FBT and sends out paperwork to be completed by clients

• Provides resource list, recipes, pertinent information, and supplies to perspective and current FBT Clients


• Explains to potential FBT clients and families what to expect when participating in the FBT program

• Orders FBT materials and other needed items for FBT clients and program


• Researches articles, videos, trainings, and resources in relationship to Eating Disorder and FBT work

• Works with FBT Program Supervisor on program development

• Conducts consultation and support for clients and families who are on the FBT waitlist

• Acts as liaison with outside providers to coordinate client care in consultation with therapists and FBT Program Supervisor as needed

• Provides support to all FBT therapists, as needed

• Sends diagnostic assessments and other clinical tools to prospective and current FBT clients

• Works in conjunction with FBT Program Supervisor and the Development Team in marketing of FBT program and provides community presentations as needed.


• Provides crisis intervention/stabilization and case management services to at-risk youth and their families both on-site and in the community

• Participates in consultation and networking activities with area schools and service providers

• Attends all required staff meetings and trainings


• Attends specialized trainings specific to FBT, eating disorders, FBT hospital staffing's, and FBT Group Supervision


• Provides clinical and statistical documentation as required

• Will meet expected direct service hours and maintain case record compliance

• Performs other duties as required


EDUCATION/SKILLS/EXPERTISE:

• Working knowledge of eating disorders and eating disorders treatment, preferably experienced in FBT (Family Based Treatment for Eating Disorders)

• Master's or bachelor's degree in a mental health discipline


• Sensitivity to, and respect for, cultural differences

• Knowledge of evidence-based practices in working with youth, adults, older adults, families, and groups.


• Working knowledge of DSM-V-TR

• Knowledge regarding the techniques of mental health assessment, crisis intervention, and counseling

• Basic knowledge of community resources

• Excellent interpersonal skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Basic knowledge of substance use disorders

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS RELATED TO WORKING CONDITIONS:

The employee in this position must have his/her/their own transportation as the portion of the work may occur at other agencies and in client's homes.

A minimum amount of carrying audio-visual equipment and educational materials/supplies may be required.
