We are looking for a Crypto Systems Management engineer, who will be responsible for the sustainment and advancement of our DoD customer’s crypto device management systems. The qualified candidate will be responsible for updates, patching, and progression of the crypto management systems to stay in line with deployed and planned deployed levels of the bulk encryptors used on the network.
Job Responsibilities:
- Act as a trusted advisor in Network Encryption Device Management
- Act as a subject matter expert on target platforms and its technology, combing product expertise with your skills and experience.
- Support other related systems’ efforts, primarily the network and application teams.
- Consult with customers to understand, and then meet, their business and technical goals•
- Analyze performance data and assist with performance troubleshooting / tuning of fielded applications.
- Deploy, administer, configure and maintain Network Encryption management systems.
- Participate in project scoping.
- Build relationships that support the successful adoption and integration of products throughout the application lifecycle.
Required Skills:
- 5+ years proven experience deploying, managing, and supporting Bulk Encryptor element management systems (to include General Dynamics GEM One and Thales SMC)
- Demonstrable experience with MS Windows and Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating systems
- Demonstrable knowledge of Network Encryption practices and processes.
- The ability to engage customers and stakeholders in a collaborative and consultative manner.
- Ability to assess customer's situation, business needs, complex problems, and provide expert recommendations in the areas of application and infrastructure.
- Ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical consumers from IT administrators to executive level stakeholders.
- Self-motivated and self-educating, able to function independently as needed.
- Experience documenting processes and procedures as a result of engineering work.
- Experience working in a variety of lifecycle models (Waterfall and Agile Scrum primarily), and in a hybrid environment.
Desired Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with bulk encryptors managed by GEM One (HAIPE Encryptors, primarily) or SMC (Thales Network Encryptors)
- Experience with Virtualization technologies, including VMWare and Citrix
- Cloud and Infrastructure technologies such as AWS or Azure
- Experience with data presentation via charts and dashboards.
Other Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field; or equivalent experience/ combination of education and experience.
- Active DoD Security Clearance (minimum Secret)
- Required Certifications: DoD 8570/8140 Compliance (CompTIA Security+ or better is common)
Work Locations:
- Ft. Meade, MD (up to 100%, some telework possible)
Travel Required:
- No travel expected but must be available to travel if needed.
