What You Will Be Doing
Collaborating closely with engineering and operations teams, you will contribute to the success of plant expansion projects while maintaining a strong focus on safety and efficiency by performing the following:
Maintenance Support: - Perform preventative, routine, and emergency maintenance of control/networking systems
- Advise on equipment selection, considering digital and analog I/O, cabinet, and system design requirements
Vendor Oversite: - Provide oversight of external controls vendors, ensuring clear work requirements and successful delivery
Programming and Design: - Design, code, test, and debug moderate to complex programs
- Develop HMI with east-to-understand graphics, automating steps, and implementing necessary messaging and alerting
Standards and Documentation: - Drive standards to ensure reliability and develop maintenance replacement plans
- Adhere to SOPs for development, documentation, and code backup
Network Management: - Manage controls cabinets, ensuring proper maintenance and documentation
- Oversee controls network communications, collaborating with IT to minimize performance or security risks
Safety and Training: - Provide 24x7 support for critical plant controls systems issues
- Promote a safety-first culture within the controls team, ensuring effective interactions within the plant
Knowledge Development: - Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in Rockwell and related US automation technologies
What You Need for this Position
3+ years of experience in controls engineering and a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or related automation or controls degree, or a combination of equivalent work experience and an automation technical degree and:
Technical Skills: - Experience with Allen Bradley PLCs, related components, and Logix programming
- Proficiency in various HMI development tools, including Factory TalkView and Aveva InTouch
Knowledge: - In-depth understanding of automation technologies, controls systems design, and troubleshooting methodologies
Project Management: - Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
Communication: - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with internal teams and external resources
