Job description
Nippon Seiki is a world-class manufacturer of instruments for vehicles, agricultural, and construction equipment. ("NSI"), a group company of Nippon Seiki, located in Troy, MI, is a tier one supplier of instrument clusters and head-up display units for FCA US, General Motors, BMW, Honda, Harley Davidson, Suzuki, Polaris, Arctic Cat and other OEM's.
In the automotive industry, work with Instrument Cluster Designs and Head up displays. Design and develop IPC/HUD modules adhering to Design Engineering Standards (DES). Create 3D Models and 2D drawings including GD&T for all structural components considering DFM/DFA factors, cost, material & component specifications, and other design factors. Perform Engineering Calculations and Stack-up Analysis in order to ensure the Design deliverables conform to the standards and specifications. Interface with the customer to further understand design requirements during the design specification/styling development phase and during product development phase. Compile and analyze Specification Confirmation Reports prior to the development. Track progress and ensure that Design Development related deliverables are met on time. Prepare Structural, Thermal and Dynamic Analysis using FEA Software – ABAQUS or similar software. Utilize Light Simulation Software LightTools and Zemax for Optical Design and Simulation and recording findings. Develop the Prototype during the build trials. Test and evaluate IPC/HUD products as required. Perform benchmark analysis, attending trade shows (NAIAS) and compiling market trend analysis of IPC/HUD Products. Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent based on evaluation of academic credentials, training and/or experience) as well as twelve (12) months in job or job related experience to include, job duties listed above.
