Our client is a leading publicly traded manufacturer of materials with global operations and annual revenue exceeding $3 Billion. They are seeking a highly motivated and experienced
Senior Accountant to join their dynamic team in China. You will play a critical role in overseeing all accounting functions for their Chinese operations, ensuring financial accuracy, compliance and timely reporting. This is a pivotal position within their global finance team, offering the opportunity to work at the intersection of business and finance while impacting a multinational organization.
The Staff Accountant will be based in Chicago with potential travel to China. This position offers a competitive compensation and benefits package, with the opportunity to work in a dynamic and growing industry.
Senior Accountant Responsibilities:- Preparation of financial statements
- Assist in diligence, purchase accounting, and integration of acquisitions
- Prepare SEC filings and footnote disclosures, including 10-Qs, 10-Ks, 8-Ks, etc.
- Assist in the monthly close process, including preparing journal entries and account reconciliations
- Work with external auditors during the annual audit process and quarterly reviews
- Assist with research of technical accounting areas and other significant accounting transactions
- Work on special projects, reporting, and transactions as assigned
- All other duties as assigned or duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice
Senior Accountant Requirements:- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation
- 2+ years of experience in public accounting, ideally with exposure to multinational clients
- 3+ years of experience in a senior accounting role within a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Fluent in Mandarin and English
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Travel flexibility to China, availability on occasional evenings for virtual meetings with China
