Ingram Content Group (ICG) is hiring for a Sales Specialist to contribute to our National Accounts team in LaVergne, TN just outside Nashville. This is not a remote position.
In this role, you will provide support to the Director and Account Managers (Wholesale/CDF) and assist in managing assigned bulk and CDF clients. You will collaborate with the existing customers and prospects to represent Ingram Book Company (IBC) in the promotion, coordination, and participation of selling Ingram Book Group programs, products, systems, and services to new and existing clients with regards to opening orders. You’ll work with the sales team, identifying prospective customers through business contacts and participating in industry organizations. You will also explain the company’s terms, policies, and procedures and, under direct supervision, integrate customers into Ingram Book Group.

Required Qualifications
:
- HS Diploma or GED
- 2 years’ experience in sales OR book industry
- 2 years’ experience in customer service
- 1 year of Intermediate EXCEL experience to include data manipulation/design, charts and formulas
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with the entire MS Office365 suite
- Strong critical thinking skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Learns to represent IBC with respect to promotion, sales, and service to a variety of customers within a defined geographical area to potential accounts; to include all IBC services including new and backlist title sales, potential merchandise marketing planning and establishing and maintaining customer relations.
- Works under direct supervision, generating revenue and/or profit margin in assigned accounts.
- Ensures high post-sales satisfaction by working with the sales team to facilitate positive long-term relationships and high potential for repeat business with customers.
- Learns about and keeps informed on new products and/or services and other general information of interest to customers.
- Informs customers of supply and price trends, and assists in inventory control, under the guidance of the sales team and supervisor.
- Sells Ingram Book Group’s programs, systems and services to new customers.
- Facilitates placing, tracking and receipt of orders by working with the customers and appropriate Ingram departments.
- Evaluates new customer needs and prepares sales offers, providing comparison with competitors, to meet those needs.
- Works with other Ingram departments and business units to effectively manage and support all new accounts.
- Performs account maintenance/set up and support to Account Managers (Wholesale/CDF).
- Analyzes customer needs and interests to identify, recommend, and expedite solutions to resolve customer problems and/or complaints.
- Monitors and helps manage customer portals to ensure the company is meeting and/or exceeding metrics/SLA’s set by the customer.
- Monitors and updates report spreadsheets with sales and activity data and provides to management on a weekly and monthly basis.
- Works with Account Managers in a project management role to initiate, monitor and manage various projects.
